Can you do scrapbooking with Stampin’ Up?

I hear this question from so many people.  I know that many demonstrators focus on cards.  But, for me, my answer is YES!  You can.

I was visiting with a friend the other day and we were talking about Stampin’ Up and scrapbooking and the question came up.   I decided to challenge myself to do a not-so-simple scrapbook layout with the Tranquil Textures product suite using the Sea of Textures stamps and dies.  All of these items are page 155 in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

I had done a card using this suite a couple of weeks ago and I knew that the scrapbook layout, just like the card, would be inspired by one of my favorite places in the world, Bermuda.

My daughter and husband think I’m obsessed with the island; maybe I am.  Not that I’m keeping track but the current countdown to our next vacation to the “Rock” is 217 days.

Everything in this two-page layout is from Stampin’ Up with the exception of the stickers (I cannot remember where I got them) and the Bermuda die cut which I bought from my favorite local paper crafting store, Papercraft Clubhouse, in Westbrook, Connecticut.  I don’t remember the name of the company who did the die cut.

In my (sometimes not so humble) opinion there are some things I can never get enough of and some of those things are pink sand, crystal clear blue water and getting away from reality.  Bermuda fits all of these for me (as I sit here and type on a Sunday night knowing work awaits tomorrow).

I used a fuse tool (also not Stampin’ Up) to do the bottom border to give the illusion of pink sand and I used the tranquil texture sprinkles to make it look like rocks.  All the pictures were taken last August when we went to Tobacco Bay for the day to some snorkeling and to walk around St. George’s while we were waiting for the ferry to bring us back to the Dockyard.

I may have overdone it a bit on the octopus and the fishnet.  They don’t allow fishnets in the waters off Bermuda and I’ve never seen an octopus.  But, you get the idea.

They’re talking (maybe) a snow storm next weekend and it’s a cold night tonight.  This layout and the pictures bring me back to a warm, fun, wicked awesome day I will never forget.

Happy Stamping (and scrapbooking, too!)

Megan
