Wishing for Spring
Sitting here on a cold (but not as cold as it usually is) Sunday in January and wishing Spring was here. The stamp set, All That You Are, from the new Occasions Catalog has caught my eye and I decided to try to see what I could come up with. I love these stamps. And, I love that they coordinate with the Frosted Bouquet Framelits that they carried over from the 2018 Holiday Catalog.
Both of these cards are done with Highland Heather cardstock for the card base.
For this card, I stamped the large flower stamp in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock. It is colored with Shaded Spruce, Balmy Blue, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I stamped this same stamp again, colored the large flower and then fussy cut it out. I adhered this cut-out stamp with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like giving my cards a little pop. I did use a piece of Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog. This paper is super useful and is very versatile.
I used the Pretty Label Punch for both the Whisper White Tag and the Highland Heather Tag. The Highland Heather Tag is actually cut in half to give the Whisper White Tag a little border. The Highland Heather ribbon is from the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog and you can get this for free when you spend $50.
I do like decorating the inside of the cards I make, as well. I think it makes them look complete.
For this card, I wanted to use tone on tone stamping to give the Highland Heather Cardstock a little color but I didn’t want to use any designer series paper. I stamped the Highland Heather Cardstock with one of the stamps from the All That You Are stamp set. I used the same colors as I did in the previous card. The tag is from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits. The ribbon is the same ribbon I used in the stamp above and I love this ribbon because it comes in 5 different colors: Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove and Lemon Lime Twist. It coordinates with many of the items in the Occasions Catalog and is perfect for Spring!
This stamp set is really versatile. You could do a lot with it and the cards can be as simple or as complicated as you are comfortable with.
If you would like to check out the above items in any of the Stampin Up Catalogs, you may click on the links to the catalogs to the right.
Don’t forget we are having a Stampin’ Up Paper Pumpkin Class this Friday night, January 11th. We will make 2 cards and you can choose the stamps from the Paper Pumpkin kit you would like to use.
Hope to see you Friday and Happy Stamping!
Megan
