Happy New Year! I am so excited about 2019. I have been stamping and scrapbooking for over 20 years. I love creating decorations by hand and making gifts for people with paper as well. I work full time as a hospice nurse with a home care agency. I am also a wife and a mom. Like most women, I have put off what I like to do for too long. That is why I am wicked excited to start this new adventure with Stampin Up! I was with Stampin Up before as a demonstrator, but a medical issue caused me to stop paper-crafting. The medical issue remains but fortunately I can stamp and make cards again (along with other stuff) due to some new tools I have bought and some adaptations on my end. I am not as fast as I used to be, and some things are still tricky (tying knots and using ribbon for two) but I am now as least able to come to my craft room and unwind. It is especially helpful after a difficult day at work. I love my job and the nurses I work with, but it can be emotional at times. Papercrafts make me happy and my goal is to teach you and show you how you can do stamps, cards and scrapbooks using tips and techniques that I’ve learned through the years. I hope you will come to love Stampin Up as much as I do.
My first blog post is just an introduction to me. Below are some things I have been working on for the past month. I was busy making Christmas presents. Now that the holidays are over, it is time to focus on Sale-a-bration with Stampin Up and the new Occasion Catalog. Check out the new products. They are amazing.
I am having a Paper Pumpkin event on January 11th. Paper Pumpkin is a monthly kit you subscribe to from Stampin Up. You get everything you need to complete the project in the box and most things can be put together in a short amount of time. What I love about these kits is that if you are traveling you can take a kit with you and work on while you are relaxing by the fire (or in my case relaxing by a window overlooking some mountains in Vermont or sitting by a window on a cruise ship). Seriously.
This card is from my absolute favorite stamp set in the Annual Catalog. I live by the water and I cannot imagine living without being able to see the water daily. I love the smell of it (my daughter thinks I’m crazy). My favorite place to visit is Bermuda and I tried to capture that in this card (although I have never seen an octopus there and if there was a net in the waters it would be a big issue.)
I love the color of the sand. I will post instructions for this card and the dimensions in an upcoming blog. There are so many variations of this card and it wasn’t hard to make. I promise!
This card was the Christmas card I made for my upline. Lisa is awesome and she has been so supportive of me in this endeavor and has become a dear friend to me.
These are little boxes which I made to hold candy for all my family. The tag slides off. The box holds 6 Hershey hugs and kisses comfortably (I wish I had taken a picture of the inside. I lined it with the paper as well. ). It’s just adorable!
Thanks for checking out my first entry in my blog! I am new to this and the entries can only get better! Stay tuned for my next entry which will showcase a beautiful card made with supplies out of the new Occasion Catalog.
